Honest Venustas Heated Vest Review Overview

Overall, I personally really love the Venustas heated vest and have never been warmer out on the hiking trails!

I live in Minnesota and have been able to wear it out on multiple hikes, as well as while ice skating.

After spending days on end outside freezing my butt off, I figured that having myself some heated apparel would only do my body some good.

Myself wearing a Venustas vest outdoors in the snow.

Turns out, I was right, and I don’t think that I’ll ever go back to going outside in the winter without one!

The Venustas heated vest 7.4V is easy to use, lasts for hours at a time, and is comfortable to wear.

Now that you know my opinion of the vest, let’s jump into all of the specifics and what you should know!

Features and Specs

Below are some of the top features to expect when you get your Venustas vest.

Three Heat Settings

There are three different heat settings on the vest, which can help you control your temperature.

If it’s very cold outside, you may want it on the warmer side, whereas if it’s just a little chilly, low might suffice.

The button of my vest that reads 'Venustas.'

💙 Low: 95°F/35°C (blue LED; lasts 9-10 hours)
🤍 Medium: 113°F/45°C (white LED; lasts 5-6 hours)
❤ High: 130°F/55°C (red LED; lasts 3 hours)

To switch between the three settings, you’ll just click the button until you see the corresponding LED color.

6 Heating Panels

One of my favorite parts of the vest is that there are 6 different heating panels, to keep you warm all over your body.

There is a panel on each shoulder, in the mid-back, on the collar, and my favorite, on each of the pockets.

So if you always have cold hands like I do, then the pocket heat panels will help keep your fingers warm too!

Water Resistant

The outer material of the vest is water resistant, so if it begins to rain, you’ll stay slightly more protected with the nylon material.

This can help keep you warm when paired with the heating panels.

Although try not to get the vest too wet, as you don’t want to soak up all of the water.

Mylar Thermal Lining

The inside of the vest is lined with mylar, which is a type of material that is used to keep people warm.

Mylar is a thin material, similar to the foil blankets that they give at the end of a marathon, or emergency blankets used for hiking.

The mylar lining on the inside of the vest.

It helps reflect heat back towards you, rather than losing that body heat.

So with this material inside the vest, it helps keep your body heat and the heat from the vest close to you.

Includes Waterproof Bag

The Venustas heated vest comes with a waterproof zippered bag, which is perfect for storing it to ensure it doesn’t get wet.

I typically pack my vest back up once I’m done using it and store it in the bag with the charging cord to keep it all together.

You can also use the bag to store other items in it during a hike in the rain or during the winter!

USB Port on Battery Pack

Aside from just using the battery pack to power the vest, you can also use the USB port on it to charge your phone!

Because cold weather can often cause our phones to lose battery and it’s important to have cell phones on us during a hike, this is a really useful feature!

How it Works

I was really worried that heated apparel would be tough or confusing to use, but quite honestly, it’s extremely easy!

Here is a simple guide to use the vest:

  1. Plug the battery pack into the vest pocket.
  2. Hold the button for about 5 seconds until it begins flashing red.
  3. Allow the vest to preheat for about 5 minutes.
  4. Once the button turns blue, click it through each setting until you’re happy.

This simple process will turn the vest on and help it to start heating up and keeping you warm!

After it’s on, you’ll need to click the button through the settings until it’s on the heat setting that you would like.

Red is high, white is medium, and blue is low.

Pros of the Venustas Heated Vest

Here are some of my favorite parts of the heated vest, and why I think that you’ll love having one for yourself too!

Keeps You Warm

There are multiple heating elements throughout the vest that work together to keep you nice and warm on those cold winter days.

There are three different heat settings to work through; low, medium, and high.

The backside of the Venustas vest while I'm wearing it outside.

No matter how long you’re outside, it will keep you warm, as the medium setting will last for about 5-6 hours.

If you have it on low, it’ll last 8-10 hours, and on high it will last about 3 hours.

So no matter how long you’re going to be outdoors in the cold weather, you can wear the vest and stay toasty warm.

Easy to Use

When I first used my heated vest, I was worried that it would be tricky and confusing to use.

But it’s actually quite the opposite, and is really easy to use, even when you’re out and about.

Simply plug the battery into the vest and hold the button for about 5 seconds to turn it on. Allow it to preheat for a few minutes, and you’re good to go!

Press the button and work through the stages; blue means low, white means medium, and red means high.

Comfortable

The Venustas heated vest is also very comfortable and nice to wear throughout the day!

It fits nicely over a sweatshirt, zips up, and

Can Be Layered

With a vest, you can layer it underneath a jacket to stay extra warm.

I’ve worn mine multiple times underneath my winter jacket and turned it on medium heat for the entire day.

The button of the Venustas heated vest lit up on high heat.

Or, you can just layer it underneath a thinner fleece jacket to wear during the fall and spring months.

This makes it very versatile and great for more than just winter!

Multi-Season Use

I personally love the vest because you can use it in multiple seasons, whereas a vest is typically only used for winter.

Layer it over a sweatshirt during those chilly fall mornings, and you’ll be kept nice and warm.

Or, put it on underneath a jacket to stay warm on very cold winter days.

Charge Your Phone

I also love that you can use the battery pack to charge your phone, as there is a USB port on it for charging.

So if you’re out in the cold and your phone starts to lose battery, just plug it in!

Cons of Venustas Heated Apparel

Below are a few of the cons of the Venustas vest, that you should consider when purchasing yours.

Battery is Bulky

One of the most inconvenient parts of the Venustas heated vest is that the battery pack is pretty bulky and can get annoying.

The package of the 7.4V battery held over the heated vest.

It’s situated right in the lower half of the vest, near the lower back.

So if you’re sitting with your back against a chair or something, you’ll feel the hard battery pack.

The Battery Takes a While to Charge

Another con that I have when it comes to the vest is that the battery can take quite a while to become fully charged.

I find that it takes about 4 hours to fully charge it, so you’ll want to get it charged up the night before if you’re planning on wearing it out one day.

How Long Does the Venustas Battery Last?

The battery can last for quite a while, but how long it really stays on will depend on which setting you have the vest on.

On low, the vest can last you 8-10 hours, meaning that you can have it on all day without having to worry about the battery dying!

On medium, the battery will last for about 5-6 hours, while the high setting will only last for about 3 hours.
