Guest Posting Guidelines

Would you like to contribute to The Hiking Helper? Do you have some tips about hiking or backpacking that you’re dying to get out there?

Great! I’m looking for guest posts about hiking and getting out on the trail, and would love to have some of my fellow bloggers contribute!

If you’d like to submit a guest post pitch, please follow the below guidelines:

🏔 You should be a blogger with your own website. I do not accept guest posts from companies or corporations. I would love to work with new bloggers who are looking to get your writing into the world. Don’t be scared to send a pitch my way!

🏔 The content that you’re submitting should be original and new. It should not have been published anywhere else and will not be published anywhere else in the future. I will check for plagiarism.

🏔 The guest post should be at least 1,500 words, but I will gladly accept more, as long as it isn’t just fluff. All words should be useful to my readers!

🏔 The topic that you’re pitching must be about hiking or backpacking, because that is what The Hiking Helper is about. I unfortunately cannot accept other content at this point. (Ideas include specific hikes, round-up lists, tips for hiking in certain seasons, tips for hiking in certain places, what to wear hiking, what to bring, national park hiking guides, etc.)

🏔 I especially love topics that will build on content that I already have on my website. Please check out my destinations page to see places that I’ve already written about!

🏔 We can discuss topics and decide on a keyword together if you can’t think of something to write about.

🏔 Photos should be your own and should be free of watermarks. Please have at least 3-5 photos. If you have more, that is great! If you don’t have photos, please let me know ahead of time.

*** I reserve the right to edit the post as needed for SEO, grammar, and flow, and add my own affiliate links. I may add additional keywords, information, etc. to the post as I see fit. Over time, the post may be edited for better SEO and rankings, but if any major changes are made, I will contact you first.

What You Get From Guest Posting

🏔 Your writing in front of my readers who are looking to hike and get inspiration and tips for hiking. They rely on my content to get quality tips and information.

🏔 1 link back to a relevant, non-competing post on your website for every 500 words written.

🏔 1 link to your homepage.
